Gourmet experience

This tour was amazing. So many different food options. Starting with coffee, pastry, wine, to local delicacies. Best Gelato in Venice. Our guide Hannah was a delight. She shared her experiences with us.

Just like a walk with a friend

Our group was very lukcy to have Anna as a guide, she was thrully a higlight of the tour: very attentive, inclusive, knowledgeble and with great sense of humour. The tour itself was as described and very much felt as a walk with a local friend. We had a child an a couple who didn't drink, so they were offered alternatives. Vegetarian was well looked after and was helped to choose a safe option. Anna tried very hard to satisfy our picky eaters, but they just picky eaters that followed a large family group for this tour. As to amount of food, we were not overfed, and with a good amount of walking it felt we could have done with an another cicetty or slice of salamy, don't take me wrong, we definitely weren't left hungry. And to be fare, if I wanted to have a big meal I would have gone for a restaurant. I wanted some history and explanations about culture and eating habits, and that exactly what this tour was about. Even delivered smartly in the right order: snacks, snaks and drink, main with drink, coffee, desert, ice cream.

The guide knew the best "off the grid" places in Venice. Food was fresh and well prepared and wine was included in every stop.

We had the most incredible time with our host Anna. She led us on a three hour food and wine tour where we ate “like a local Venetian.” I highly recommend this tour and this host. Our fellow tourists are from Iceland and South Africa. Mama Mia, the food, the wine, the company, the host!! Anna’s knowledge, conversation, and excitement was fantastic. Grazie!!

Anna was the best guide we’ve had yet. The tour was great and very accommodating for kids and non-fish people despite being in Venice. Anna was kind to everyone and gave us excellent insight to the food and city!!

Would not recommend this tour at all. None of the places that we visited stood out for the food. Our tour guide (Holly), tried to accommodate our vegetarian requirements during the tour, but that was more of an after thought than any planning. Also, the group size of 23 people was huge and not a personal experience at all. We were saved by the fact that the people in the group were fun and we hung out afterwards for a great time.

I am very sorry you didnt have a positive experience. It is difficult to cater to people who only eat vegetables in a city known for fish and seafood and with a group interested only seafood , and with you only eat particular types of vegetables. You could choose a private tour instead of a group tour so we could take you to places catered to only your need, but in a group tour, what we could do is very limited. I'm very shocked and hurt to hear that you had a problem with the group size when we asked you in advanced repeatedly in writing and in person you could get a refund or stay and get more food and wine with a bigger group and you chose to stay to get more food and wine than usual, and now you acted all surprise. You could have also cancel on the spot per our term and condition and still get a refund but you chose to stay . I'm glad , however that you were able to make some new friends during the tour .

VERY disappointing
Linda_W
, Jul 2022
We were very disappointed with the tour for a number of reasons. 2 groups were combined which made the group too large for a good experience. We were informed of this before hand and offered alternative dates and times but on a short trip to Venice we had already made plans for our stay. We were NOT offered a refund if we cancelled due to the size of the group. The food tastings had no cohesion. We began with savoury, then sweet, back to savoury finally sweet. The pasta dish in the restaurant was very poor. We would have preffered a Venetian guide rather than an American (even though she had lived in Venice for a number of years)

Dear Linda, I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the tour as much as we would like you to. It is written that YES you can get a REFUND if the group size exceeds what was stated on the voucher if you DO NOT participate in the tour. Please look under the product description more information section. It is there. On this occasions, one of the colleagues were sick, so we gave you an option to stay and continue the tour with more food , or choose another date or get a refund. We mentioned in the email that if you chose to stay, every one will have more food and wine than usual, and YOU CHOSE to stay instead of getting the refund. I'm sorry you didn't like the pasta. It is cooked the way the locals liked it, so even if you didn't like it, you have tried something local. I think you must not listened during the tour because the guide explained that one of the stops had to close early for personal reason, and they called the group to come earlier than planned and wine was offered as well on this stop and you could CHOOSE to have the pastry wrap up and eat later as well at a later stop but you decided to eat it right away !!!. We only make the stops there to show you the place before it s closed .Thank you anyway for your feedback!

Anna is Awesome!!

I highly recommend this tour!! When looking for things to do while my brother and I were in town I found this tour. We had an excellent time. Anna, our tour guide, was excellent. She was easy to understand and had a great sense of humor. At every food/wine stop she explained what we were going to eat/drink and its relevance to Venetian culture. If you really want to get an idea of how locals eat then this is your tour.
