Traveler pickup is offered

Roam the central Australian desert on a slow-paced camel tour, led by an expert guide, and gaze at the awe-inspiring sight of Uluru (aka Ayers Rock) as your backdrop. After hotel pickup, your cameleer shares interesting facts about the ecology of the Australian outback and UNESCO World Heritage–listed Uluru and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) seen in the distance.

Learn about your one-humped, dromedary travel companions, brought to Australia in the 19th century, and contemplate how the outback pioneers traveled across regions of Australia. Now estimated to number 200,000 in the wild, these tame camels are well-trained to provide a comfortable ride.

Choose from sunrise, sunset, or express camel tours. Watch the desert come to life at dawn or dusk. If you’re short on time, take a morning or afternoon express camel ride for a taste of central Australia’s traditional transport. Finish with drop off at your hotel.

Sunrise Camel Ride: Take in the cool morning and watch the rising sun light up Uluru and the surrounding plains as you cross the desert on a peaceful camel ride through stunning sand dune country. After the ride, enjoy billy tea and freshly baked beer bread (damper) with quandong jam (outback native fruit).

Sunset Camel Ride: Set out at dusk for a camel ride and marvel at the deepening hues as the sun sets behind the desert plains, sharpening the monolithic outlines of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Return to the camel farm at twilight to enjoy sparkling wine, beer or soft drinks with snacks.

Morning or Afternoon Camel Express: For a shorter camel ride, cross the desert on a quicker "express" camel trip including views of Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and the outback landscape. Then visit the camel museum to learn more about the important role of camels in the Australian outback.

Note: the afternoon express ride is seasonal and only operates from April to October.

Loved the walk the views were amazing. Tour guide was also amazing. Only thing I wish was different was I wish they did a private tour. We had noisey kids behind us who didn’t stop yapping the whole time. Otherwise everything was amazing

Amazing sunset came l ride

The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful. The camels were all well behaved the nibbles and drinks were plentiful and the bread delicious. We did this tour 10 years ago and it is great to see how well this business has grown. The infrastructure has gone from a small shed to a shop and bar area as well as a entertaining space and more yards for the camels. Well done to all involved.

This was a fantastic tour. Cameleer was very good on knowledge. It was a cold morning but a good coat sufficed and they handed out ponchos if you needed extra warmth. We had a great view of the rock at sunrise nd we’re treated to a lovely hot bread and hot drink snack on our return. Well worth putting on your to do list whilst at Uluru

The tour was great. We really enjoyed it. Camels are so cute and they are so friendly animals. Our tour guide is very knowlegdeable and with a sense of humour. Forgot to ask his name but he said he has been there for 7 years…so whoever that is, thank you for the wonderful tour and we had great nibbles and wine at the end. It was awesome
