Enjoyed a comfortable ride to Magetic Island. Just be careful where you book it. It is cheaper to buy at the ferryterminal if you have a concession card. I was worried about not getting on to get to the tour I booked so bought it through here with the 10 percent voucher I was sent. Would have saved half the fare buying on a concession at the terminal. Plenty of seats despite being Good Friday. No where on line could I find ferry fares or a timetable. This is an oversight that should be fixed as not everyone is a local.

This is a beautiful island and just the ferry ride alone makes it worth while! The ferry terminal is easy to find and the organisation good. Only thing to remember is to get your voucher converted to a ticket before you board! I had not realised that t here is a quite a decent population living on the island all year round. However this does not really detract from the beauty or the various beaches available. There are local buses that go around the island which makes it easy to see for yourself. You could get on and off as you wish however we only had a half day so stayed on the bus. There are 2 routes so if you do both you cover the whole island. We had a swim at one of the many beaches and it was so warm it was like getting into a warm bath! Lots of nice places to eat and socialise. I saw a backpacker type accomodation but no hotels although I am sure there is other accomodation. I would love to stay for a few nights and if you felt the need to see the big city it is a short ferry ride to the mainland and back. Best of both worlds!
