Avoid this one like the plague!
Hector_S
, Jul 2022
Gee, where to begin? This tour was such a waste of time and money, period! We spent most of the time picking up and dropping off guests than the actual tour alone! In addition, we spent a lot of our valuable time stuck in traffic, so by the time we get to see the attractions, the driver/tour guide gave us only a few minutes, which were not even enough to take good pictures! The bus was also very hot and the driver/guide very grouch and so difficult to understand! It seems that he slurred his words and that he didn't wanted to be there. Anyway, save your money on this one if you have your own car. Believe me, you'll be able see (and enjoy) a lot more of Sedona on your own without a single penny to spend--other than on gas, of course!
Response from Host , Jul 2022
We are proud of our tours and our team and regret when guests don't have the best experience. With that said, avoid like the plague is a substantial warning. One would wonder why such a headline would be delayed 4 months.
Let's address some of your issues:
We are one of the few companies offering this tour that offer door to door service. Guests are not required to drive, deal with parking etc. to enjoy our tour.
A feature we provided to you.
We offer a private tour for guests wanting/needing this tour without the elements of a group tour.
The tour is conducted under the duration of the tour. The guide is describing and narrating even while pickup, drop offs, and traffic stops are occurring.
The traffic was exceptional as spring break is the busiest week of the year. We are fortunate that so many wonderful people come to experience the area at this time. You selected to come at this time along with these many other guests to our fair city.
If you had been in your own vehicle, you would still have dealing with the traffic issue or in fact being a part of it.
We continually receive great ratings on our tours (please see review directly below this one).
We stand behind our guide and our tours but your commentary has been duly noted.

Don’t waste your time and money

This trip was a waste of time. It was too long and felt like an aimless drive around Sedona. The only 2 places of interest we stopped (and the 2 main reasons I booked) were Chapel of the Holy Cross and Airport Mesa overlook. We were only at each for approximately 15-20 mins. So, out of a 2.5 hour drive only :30-:45 minutes were quality.

Al made this tour amazing

So let me begin by saying that this tour is great if you’re looking for two beautiful photographic stops and a nice scenic tour. This is not a hiking tour of Sedona but rather an informative scenic trip of Sedona. I personally loved my experience. Al my tour guide was absolutely hilarious. He was also very informative and told the information in a manner that made it easy to retain and wasn’t dry in the sense it would lull you to sleep! I highly recommend this tour but I can only recommend it if Al is your guide!

Sedona Tourist Overview

This tour was informative. Our guide, Al was very knowledgeable. He gave historical, cultural, and geographical information. He not only gave his prepared speech, but he also answered questions that may or may not have been part of the plan. Al answered one question with a general answer & would not be pinned to giving an exact percentage of which he was unsure. How wonderful to have a genuine guide instead of a know it all! Also was also good at throwing in a bit of humor that added to his talk.
Our vehicle was clean and comfortable.

The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the history of Sedona however did not take us to the areas listed in the ad. The stops we stopped at were Holy Cross Church and Airport Loop Dr. The other two areas were Coffee Pot and Tlaquepaque Arts Village. These he did not even mention and we drive right the Art Village.

We enjoyed our tour of Sedona. We traveled to Sedona for a few short hours and was able to take this tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared stories of Sedona the entire tour. They provided water and took special precautions during this time.
If you would like to learn about the Sedona area, this would be a great tour for the day.

Beautiful and Informative Tour

We booked the 2:30 pm tour and initially thought it would be too short to see everything. We were wrong! The pace was great and our tour guide Lil Joe was exceptional. Since our group of three were the only passengers, we were able to have a private tour but at the lower group rate. Lil Joe was very informative, engaging and extremely courteous. He arrived at our hotel a few minutes early allowing for an on-time start. He frequently offered us water and was extremely attentive by always assisting us in and out of the van. He had a very thorough knowledge of the area and his love for the job was very evident. His delivery was clear and he was very responsive to all of our questions along the way. His jokes were pretty funny too. I strongly recommend this tour if you are interested in learning about the area and seeing the sites.
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
