Your experience starts when you pick up your bike in the morning in North Beach, a San Francisco neighborhood near Fisherman’s Wharf. Receive some safety instructions and tips about the bike, plus get your helmet and bike lock.

Then set off through the northern part of the city toward the Golden Gate Bridge, stopping for photo ops whenever you wish — this is an independent tour, so you can pedal at your own pace. Take in dramatic views of the city, the Pacific Ocean, and Alcatraz Island as you cross the bridge, and then cruise downhill into the village of Sausalito, which sits on the waterfront of San Francisco Bay.

Drop off your bike and perhaps get some lunch, if you wish, at one of the eateries on the water (own expense) before boarding the shuttle to Muir Woods, which departs in the early afternoon. When you arrive at Muir Woods National Monument, pay your own entrance fee and then enjoy an hour to explore the grove of giant redwood trees, some of the oldest and tallest trees on the planet.

When your time is up, you’ll be returned to San Francisco via shuttle to end your tour.

Our experience as a family ( with 2 children 14 and 12 years old) was nice. We enjoyed sightseeing but when we crossed the Golden Gate Brigde it was dangerous for the kids. High recommended for just adults, no kids.

Great time! If anyone gets car sick, the road to Muir woods is very curvy. My daughter did good on the way there but the way back she almost got sick. Needed to get off the shuttle ASAP.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and I'm glad you and your family enjoyed yourselves; I'm sorry to hear about your daughter! You are absolutely correct in saying that the road to Muir Woods is definitely a challenging one. Our local guides have all been doing the drive for many years and are excellent navigators; our goal is for all of our customers to sit back and enjoy the ride. Again, thank you for joining us and booking directly through our website, it really makes things a lot easier for our small tour company. Sincerely, Dylan
