Make your way to Pier 33 and board the ferry for the scenic ride to Alcatraz. Be sure to bring a government-issued ID and some layers, as the ride can get chilly. During your 15-minute ride, snap photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge and the city's receding skyline.

Arrive at Alcatraz, a former federal prison that's now a National Park and get a brief orientation to the maximum security facility, which operated from 1934 to 1963. Pick up your 2.5-hour self-guided audio tour, available in ten languages, and start exploring. Listen to commentary from former staff and inmates and learn about the stints that famous inmates like Machine Gun Kelly and Al Capone served. When you're finished looking around, hop on the next ferry (ferries depart every thirty minutes) and head back to Pier 33.

Back on the mainland, eat lunch anywhere in the Embarcadero or Fisherman's Wharf area (own expense). Find your way down to the cycling tour departure point, in the heart of Chinatown.

Embark on a 3 to 4-hour bike tour with a knowledgeable local guide through several of San Francisco's most vibrant neighborhoods. Learn about each neighborhood's history and culture while you stop for beer tastings at three popular watering holes. Bars visited may include Local Brewing Co, Thirsty Bear Brewing, Zeitgest, Southern Pacific Brewing Company, Toronado, Magnolia Brewing Company and 21st Amendment. Your first beer is included; feel free to purchase additional drinks and snacks at any of the stops.

Your tour ends at its departure point.

Awesome Alcatraz and Amazing Bike Tour
, Aug 2019
Unfortunately all the tickets to Alcatraz were sold out, I purchased this package with hesitation. The Alcatraz tour is exactly what you would expect. The bike tour is located a little ways away, and is in a small shop. Our tour guide was excellent, he is very knowledgeable and gives a lot of the history and why things are the way they are. The three breweries were a great time to learn more about the city. I would highly recommend this package without hesitation.
Great way to spend an afternoon in San Francisco

We love riding bikes and drinking beer and this tour does both! We met up with four other couples and rode bikes around San Francisco, stopping at three taprooms. The best part of this type of tour is meeting people from around the world. The beer was great (as was the chips/guacamole at Standard Deviant Brewing!) and the tour guide was very informative.

The island was cool, but the bike tour to the breweries was awesome! If you like Austin you will like.

Loved the trip to Alcatraz. Wonderful auditory tour. We went with a park ranger on a special information tour about WWII. Ranger was knowledgeable and gave new insights and toured areas public dd not go. I loved the new knowledge of Native Americans on the island. We went home and read and watched more videos on that subject. Bike tour was awesome. We do not drink, but the bike tour had us go through the city we would have never gone to. We loved the conversation and insights.
Nice way of exploring many neighborhoods

An Amazing Destination

Our visit to The Rock was capped with a conversation from a former inmate, Bill Baker. Had a picture taken with him and he signed his book, "Alcatraz, #1259".......a book that is hard to put down. Incredible visit and tour and would highly recommend to anyone going to San Fran......but book the trip well in advance.
Nice experience!

Alcatraz admission was easy and fast! Excellent. The brewerys tour was nice but the beer was free only at the first brewery, we had to pay at the other two ones. Considering the price of the overall tour, in my opinion, this is not fare.

Bike Tour guy left us!
, Jul 2018
The Alcatraz tour was great. We had no issues and enjoyed our trip. But, when it came to the bike Tour we were having a great time until the 2nd brewery. As everyone finished beers and chatting my husband and I went to buy our souvenirs and use the restroom. When we came out I watched as the tour guide and the other guests walked off with their bikes and thought ok time to go. We walk around the corner to see they had all left us!!! We were standing there in shock on our bikes like wow. We had literally just been talking to the tour guide as well as other guests and somehow he forgot to do head count and took off without us! Luckily we had asked the tour guide where the next brewery was going to be so we googled the location and headed that way on our own. 10 minutes later the tour guide calls my phone and leaves a very confusing voicemail which I still have. Mind you we were riding bikes so I didn’t hear my phone ringing. Once we stopped at a stop sign he called again and directed us in the direction we should go although we already had navigation. My advice to anyone going on this tour is to ask the tour guide which breweries he will be taking you to ahead of time just in case you get left behind. If that had not happened I would have given this tour a 5 star. We had fun anyway because we are easy going people but I can imagine this experience would have scared most people especially if we had not have had a 20 minute conversation with the guide about which brewery we would be visiting next. I recommend you take the tour BUT save a list in order of which places your group will be stopping.
