Meet your guide and group at the designated meeting point, and set out to explore San Diego.
Explore an open-air market loaded with crafts, artwork, and souvenirs then head to Adobe Chapel, which served both as a home and church in the 19th century. Then, indulge in handmade tortillas, a world-famous dish that dates back to before Columbus landed in North America.
Continue on to one of the oldest brick buildings in Southern California, renowned for its haunted history, and observe some of the city's Victorian architecture, including San Diego's first synagogue.
Next, embark on a brief hike to the site of the original European settlement on the West Coast of the U.S. Admire the outline of some of the 18th-century structures and learn about the indigenous tribes native to the area.
Back in town, visit a hundred-year-old Catholic church, followed by a stroll through a landmark cemetery with graves dating back to the 1850s.
Our final stop is a local Tequileria to learn about the many different kinds of tequila. Enjoy a taste or select another beverage of your choice.

Itinerary
Spend the afternoon with us as we discover the full story of San Diego in the location where it all began – Old Town. We’ll learn about the original people here, the Spanish and visit where they settled, learn about when this was Mexico and the transition to becoming a US State. Along the way we’ll have some tortillas and will end with some fantastic tacos and tequila!

We start our tour at the Adobe Chapel, first built as a home in 1850. By 1858 it became a chapel after the Mission was closed and served in that capacity until 1919. Besides its historic religious purpose, it also served as a Catholic kindergarten and town meeting hall, is the setting of the fictional character Ramona’s wedding from the 1884 novel.

One of the city’s most historic sites, this is where the Spanish first settled when they arrived in San Diego in 1769. Nearby was the Kumeyaay village of Cosay, and the San Diego river. We’ll take advantage of the view and see how this location affected San Diego’s development since the Presidio’s founding.
