Ingólfur Square , Austurstræti 4 101, 101 Reykjavík, Iceland

We meet up at Ingolfstorg Square in the center of Reykjavik by the two stone high seat pillars (Over 2 meters high), The square is at the beginning of Austurstræti (Austurstræti 1) and is squared off by the streets Aðalstræti, Hafnarstræti, Veltusund, and Vallarstræti. If you walk down Laugavegur (The main shopping street) please just continue all the way down until you come to the square always walking straight down until you can't continue further. On the Ingolfur square itself, you can see Kvosin a small grocery market and finally Center Hotel Plaza. We recommend for people to use Google Maps or something similiar because the Icelandic street names can be tricky :).

Good overview of the cusine in Iceland

Any food lover would love this tour. Our tour guide "Your Friend in Reykjavik" was very informative about the different foods we were eating. He also did a good job explaining fun facts about the city while walking to the different restaurants. We tried 10 different food items all unique to the Islandic culture. The tour guide also runs a cat tour, which I would be interested to do in the future.

This was an amazing tour, and our tour guide was wonderful. We enjoyed the food and the experience. The lamb in Iceland is delicious! I would recommend this tour to anyone fortunate enough to travel to Reykjavik. The plus to this tour was a copy of recipes for much of what we enjoyed. Wow! Such a wonderful surprise when we got home.

Our hostess was Ester E. and she brought the foods of Iceland to life with stories of her early life and culture. Since it was a walking tour, she included other info as we passed various sites and buildings.we tried many foods foreign to us.. Langustine Soup, BBQ duck, rye ice cream, chocolate covered licorice, the famous Islandic hot dogs, and tge infamous fermented shark. Also included was a beverage among the options were caraway schnapps or Viking beer.

Not just food! Also history and culture discoveries we wouldn't otherwise have learned, thanks to our excellent guide, Esther A. Plenty to eat, too!

We had a humorous guide that told stories about Iceland along our walls between restaurants. Each stop included a few samplings of local cuisine. We had reserved tables at each stop so there was no waiting. It was a nice way to wind down before our return trip home.

A fun mix of history and local cuisine. And I am happy to have tried fermented shark — if for no other reason than to never have it again!

I highly recommend this tour, you get to taste a variety of Icelandic food. The guide was awesome explaining Icelandic food and history. Very personable and made the 2 to 2.5 hr time fun and enjoyable. My only comment is the guide should let office know if missing anyone and where first restaurant stop is. The office should reach out to the person. I booked late and was running late missed the group at meeting spot. I texted tour operator and then called and left message. I called again got through and they told me the first food stop. They also notified the tour guide. I felt a little abandoned at first that I couldn’t reach anyone from the tour but it all got resolved. I was able to taste the awesome meat soup, nothing missed but introductions.

We were met promptly by our guide at the meeting place. We went to 4 different restaurants and had icelandic specialties, including fermented shark. The highlight was the hot dog. It was great. The other specialties were also very delicious. Since it was a walking tour, also, learned a lot about the city and the harbor area. Cant go wrong with this tour.

The food was good and service prompt. The guide was difficult to hear most of the time and there was very little energy generated in the group.

Our food tour was full of delicious morsels, and the company of a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, Berta. Not only did we get to taste Icelandic specialties, but we also got first hand accounts of Icelandic life and culture. Highly recommend it!
