An amazing experience. Our guide was great and found us a quiet spot away from the crowds and out of the wind. A must-see while in Iceland.

Loved this once in a lifetime experience! The tour guide was amazing and offered us walking sticks to help with the hike. The day we went was extremely windy and. he made sure we kept a comfortable pace. He was nice enough to take pictures and also explained the history of the lava rocks! Amazing opportunity and a reasonable cost, at that! Also - no food is included so I would suggest bringing a small lunch. Tour guide was nice enough to stop at a gas station on the way back.

Once in a Lifetime Experience!

This was an incredible, once in a lifetime experience! Our guide was really patient (we classified ourselves as the old and slow group...) which was rather encouraging. The walk wasn't as treacherous as other visitors were making it out to be. To get a sense of what the walk will be like look on YouTube. A tip: If you are afraid of heights like me (I almost needed a Xanax to walk up the second hill), take a hoodie and focus forward. You'll get up the mountain easier.

Epic experience with great guide

WOW!!! Phenomenal, once in a lifetime opportunity (for most of us; I guess the tour guides get to do it every day!). Pictures and videos are making all my friends back home jealous. Glaciers and Waterfalls Iceland is a small company, not some huge, generic tour operator, and it shows. Service was very personalized and pleasant. James was a great guide, with a lot of good information. His enjoyment of his job definitely shines through. Make sure you bring some sort of snacks, or at least plenty of water. It is a bit of a hike, and there are no facilities up there. James stopped at a gas station so we could buy snacks/drinks on the way, but it would probably be wise to just bring some in case anybody is running behind and they don’t have time to stop.

Quite the hike but well worth it...Guide hiked at a good pace and we were as close as possible. The volcano erupts like every five minutes.
