Board an old steamer from the Queenstown wharf to Walter Peak to start your tour in the morning or afternoon. Relax with spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding Remarkables mountains aboard the TSS Earnslaw.

On arrival at Walter Peak High Country Farm, settle in for country-style tea as you’re served freshly baked scones and cakes. Once you’re fortified, hop in a saddle, take the reins and set off for a leisurely ride on horseback—no previous riding experience is necessary, and helmets and waterproof jackets are provided.

Horse trek was mildest of walks like a little kid would have. There are better horseback riding experiences in the area.

A ride with a view

Well organised trek. Lloyd was very organised and we felt quite comfortable on the horses. I have had little experience on a horse, so it was great feeling confident with Lloyd leadership. Stunning scenery- time on the horses was sufficient and afternoon tea was a perfect way to finish and enjoy the scenery.

A joy to ride on a hundred year old steamship to Walter's Peak to meet the ladies that led us on the horseback ride through the hills and then back to the station for a refreshing tea/cookies/cake light meal.

Enjoyed the Steamship ride across the lake. Lovely peaceful trek around the farm with Lloyd and horses Cooper and Millie. Fantastic views and nice to hear a bit about how the farm works through the year. Nicki and Shaun
