Penguin Reserve and albatross sighting - it flew directly overhead several times.

Our group of 4 from Canada was thrilled with our tour. Pickup and drop-off from the cruise terminal was seamless. Our guide Glen was outstanding!! He was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and thoughtful as a result the entire day was amazing. The choice of venues was just what we wanted and time spent at each venue was appropriate. We would not hesitate to use your company if we should ever have the opportunity to revisit New Zealand. Thank You.

Hi Dave, Thanks for your 5 star review! The wildlife viewing on the Otago Peninsula can be elusive but our guides are trained to make sure you get the best viewing opportunities on any given day. Ben has a knack of optimizing the viewing for his tour members, something that takes years of experience - we're glad you saw what you saw:) You're a Back to Nature Legend. Haste Ye Back!

a brilliant day of wildlife

This was an excellent tour. Our tour guide, Ben, was fantastic. He was a fount of information about the wildlife and where to find sea lions, seals, a huge range of birds. The visit to the albatross centre at the end of the tour was the highlight. The albatrosses came soaring in from the sea towards their nesting sites right over our heads. However the penguin centre visit was also really enjoyable and informative and included a lovely walk. Dunedin and Larnach Castle were also pleasant and interesting but for me the wildlife was the best.

Hi Barbar, Thank you for your 5 start review. Ben has a great and in depth knowledge of the flora and fauna of the Otago Peninsula. Depending on the time of year and weather conditions he'll make sure you get the best experience on any given day. Our guides at Back to Nature Tours are trained to take groups into Penguin Place giving you the best experience exploring the penguin reserve. There's nothing like a beautiful walk to see rare wildlife. Your're a Back to Nature Legend, Haste Ye Back!

Great tour. The itinerary was exactly what we were looking for. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. A smaller group is definitely the way to go!

Hi Ken_B, This itinerary was put together back in 2006 with the idea of letting independent travelers join a tour that was comprehensive with a great balance of nature and heritage, two things Dunedin is well know for. In those days there weren't many companies in New Zealand offering 'shared group' tours for cruisers, most sold products that were for exclusive groups. This tour soon became very popular because it was reasonably priced and had a comprehensive itinerary - the tour you went on was and is the original 'Back to Nature Tour' - we're glad you chose us! Your're a Back to Nature Tours Legend Haste Ye Back!

Had a wonderful day touring the Larnach Castle and viewing the Otago Peninsular. We enjoyed the lovely gardens at the Castle, and seeing the inside of the Castle. Our tour guide Glen was excellent. We got to see an abundance of wildlife. The scones are highly recommended at the Castles cafe.

Most knowledgeable tour guide

Ben met us in the terminal and the fun began. He was so knowledgeable. Knowing I was on cruthes, he furnished me an extra step to get on and off the van. I so enjoyed the penguins even though I only saw them in the nursury. Missed seeing a flying albatros but all the other wildlife he pointed out and gave us time for photographs was excellent. Best ever tour guide on the cruise.

Hi moconne, Thanks for the kind review - great to hear you had a fun day out with Ben. We often get clients that are a little less mobile than others so we make sure they are well looked after - its all part of the southern welcome! Best tour guide on your cruise is a great call - I'll pass that on. Your a Back to Nature legend, Haste Ye Back!
