Tours start from: 7 N. Columbus Blvd., Suite 7b Philadelphia, PA 19106 (next to the Waterfront Cafe & Deli)

This activity will end right where it started.
Why ride when you can glide? Riding on a Segway isn’t rocket science, but it’s important to know how to maneuver one, especially gliding around a large metropolitan area like downtown Philly. So this tour begins with a brief but thorough training session to make sure everyone feels comfortable and knowledgeable about their Segway. Additionally, all passengers must weight between 99 and 300lbs (44 and 136kg) to participate.

With the training out of the way, it’s time to hit the open road. If you have opted for the shorter Segway tour around Philadelphia, cruise a loop from the Historic District and Penn’s Landing to the Delaware River and South Street neighborhoods. Check out over 15 attractions, like the historic First Bank of the United States, the 9th Street Italian Market — the oldest and largest outdoor market in the United States — the folk art environs of the Magic Gardens and the various churches attended by William Penn, where the Quaker leader (who fought against religious oppression) practised what he preached.

On the longer Segway tour option, continue along the loop, passing by Elfreth's Alley, America's oldest continuously inhabited residential street, and the Betsy Ross House, believed to be the very site where the the first American Flag was sewn. Glide by Independence Hall, birthplace of the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the magnificent homes of Society Hill.

Continue on to the Avenue of the Arts, Rittenhouse Square and Fitler Square before traveling along the Schuylkill River to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the famous stairs from the movie Rocky. Finally, it’s off to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the Rodin Museum before winding through some of the city’s back streets, en route to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Chinatown, where the tour comes to an end.

Gilly was a great guide! Would give him a 5 plus but our tour was interrupted when 2 on our tour did not follow “single line” instructions and collided. No injuries but they were hesitant to continue…. so we had Gilly all to ourselves!!! That was the silver lining for us!!!

Tour guide was rude, condescending and impatient. Mistakenly brushed my wheels against the sidewalk and he kicked me off.

Riding the Segway around the city was so much fun. Our tour guide was very friendly however I don’t feel like I learned any real history of the city. I was a little disappointed that all we really did was ride all the way down Spruce Street and back down race, as I thought we would see more based on the online description. It was still a lot of fun.

Upbeat and fun - and (especially important to me as a senior traveling solo)very safety oriented. Our guide, D, was incredibly patient and kind, and really made the trip fun. I'd always wanted to try a segway and was surprised and delighted at how comfortable it felt once we'd been trained.

Terrible. Host had a terrible attitude, made it hard for me to get directions he was rushing me off the phone to the point my husband decided to talk. Eventually we found the place, the host talked to us like he was annoyed with the fact we were lost. To the point I just want my money back!

I'm truly sorry you had a frustrating time. We at Philly By Segway do what is needed to accommodate our guests to keep our ship running smoothly. At the start of a tour we give 30 minutes to watch our Safety video, get fitted with touring gear, and train up to hit the streets of Philly. I apologize our guides seemed to rush during the conversation and not knowing the area didn't help. We do ask to come early to have ample time to locate us, and pay for parking. I understand lateness can happen at any minute but we did direct you to the hub and you did make it. Unfortunately the guide didn't have enough time to train your group as you didn't return from paying the meter. I would most certainly reschedule you to give us 1 more shot , and suggest a free upgrade for our 2hr experience.

I always like to do a tour on the first day I arrive somewhere and I had a fantastic morning getting to learn about Philadelphia. My guide was James and I could not recommend the tour enough. It was a good mix of history and humour. The weather was particularly cold on the morning we went out and James even let me borrow his gloves! If you're looking for a tour of Philadelphia, forget the tour buses and do it by Segway.

It was a cold morning, but we still had a great tour. James was our guide and did a great job. The two hours went by really fast, but we did see a lot of the city.
