Departure Point

Ambassador Theatre, 219 W 49th St, New York City, NY 10019-7404
Prepare to dance the Cell Block Tango at a performance of the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. Choose from a matinee or evening performance at the Ambassador Theater, and then take your top-tier seats in the orchestra or front mezzanine sections to experience the smash hit revival and winner of six Tony awards.

Whether it’s your first Chicago experience or you’re a veteran fan, be dazzled by finger-snapping tunes, razor-sharp lyrics, and jazzy dance numbers inspired by Bob Fosse’s choreography of the 1975 original Broadway production.

Set in Prohibition-era Chicago, the satirical show relates the rise and fall of celebrity murderesses Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, whose crimes are carefully stage managed by slick-talking lawyer Billy Flynn. Let yourself be seduced by show-stopping numbers like ‘All That Jazz’, ‘When You’re Good to Mama,’ ‘We Both Reached for the Gun,’ and ‘Razzle Dazzle.’

It’s the killer Broadway hit you simply can’t miss.

    What a great show!

Seats were fantastic. The whole show was a great experience. Very entertaining and everyone was so intense and professional.
    Nice Broadway show

The show was great, lighthearted with a dash of humour and a none too serious storyline. A relatively small theatre brought you closer to the event. My only criticism is when I picked my 2 tickets up from the Booking Office I noticed the seats weren't allocated next to each other! Luckily the seating staff took note and made sure we were moved to a better position on adjacent seats.

Erica Jayne was absolutely amazing, the cast on the show were living there part every second on that stage..... A must see show, yes can’t wait to come back 🐾
Good show, moody staff, banal drinks, outworn ambiance

High priced show with some better, some not so good actors in a not at all glamourous atmosphere. I definitelydon´t need to do this again.

Music great. Did not like inappropriate lines/gestures demeaning to Catholics. Would not recommend to family/friends/family.
A Classic. Not to be missed

The Ambassador is quite small and basic, but pretty and comfortable. If booked again I would try not get in row G on the Mezzanine - evens side - because we were seated directly below the air-con, set to Perma-Frost. Also the refreshments were so expensive we saw quite a few people refusing them. As for the show, itself: WONDERFUL. The staging is minimal and clever. The band, which are brilliant, are central and part of the staging itself. The cast are superbly talented and, even though this was a matinee, gave it everything. They all thoroughly deserved the standing ovation they got. I heartily recommend this as a Must-See on Broadway. "To miss it would be a sin" (!)

The musical was wonderful. The instruments were great, the choreography was excellent. Velma was Outstandng!!!!!!!! I would travel to see her in anything. Roxie was very good, especially in the ventriloquist scene. The only drawbacks are with the theater. The leg room is that of an older theater and the woman's facilities are significantly inadequate. What a wonderful evening.
