This was by far one of the greatest experiences we’ve had in a while. Our guide Toney Begay was phenomenal!! From the amazing photo spots to the fascinating facts and history, funny stories and his Native American songs with his drum were enchanting. He made this experience unforgettable! Awesome Alternate Tour
Christina_L
, Jul 2021
Due to park closure, Monument Valley Safari Tours, provided us with an alternate tour that did not enter the park. It was sensational! Our small group of 6 had an amazing and much more personal experience than what I would expect is the norm. Our guide, Toney Begay, was truly the best we could have ever asked for. He was friendly, funny, had answers for all of our questions, he told great stories and gave us an awesome tour. He is also a wizard with cell phone photography! We want to go back when the park is open and do the regular tour with Toney.

Best Tour Ever

This tour was worth every penny - and then some! I had thought this would mostly be a driving tour (by jeep), but we actually did a lot of hiking which was amazing! There were breathtaking views and perfect photo ops. As this was during COVID, my mother and I were the only ones during the 4pm time slot. This meant we basically had a private tour with Tony. He told us about the history and culture of the Navajo, and had plenty of personal stories about his family and growing up in the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to everyone!

See Teardrop Arch with Toney

, May 2021
Because of Covid, MV Park was still closed; so Monument Valley Safari Tours arranged a tour of Teardrop Arch and some ancient Navajo cave dwellings just outside the park. Our guide, Toney Begay, was excellent. Not only did he show us the sites, but shared much about the culture and sang for us. It was wonderful! I highly recommend this tour and Toney.

Memorable and interesting

Because of the tribal park closure, I took an abbreviated version of the tour. It was memorable, interesting and beautiful. Toney is an excellent guide. When booking, use Utah time! The road is a bit obscure but Google Maps will get you there. Be prepared for a little hiking with good shoes and sunscreen. Be sure to look at your surroundings and appreciate the “hidden pictures.” It’s an ancient place, a bit harsh, but a wonder.

Great alternative tour

Tony provided us with a great alternative tour since the park was still closed. We were able to get amazing photos, learn about medicinal plants, listen to him sing a couple of songs his father used to sing, listen to some interesting stories about his family, and see where some Anasazi used to live in caves. It was a great experience!

Great tour

Toney is a great guild. He went out of his way to point out the little things on the tour. It is always good when the guild knows what he is talking about! He told us about many thin gs that only a true native would know.
