My kids loved it. I survived it! I agree with the reviews that said they felt a little like cattle. Some instructors were helpful with instructions. Others were rushing too much to explain things. If you take the 7:30am tour, your lunch is served at 10:30. They should just give you breakfast instead!

This tour is family friendly, safe and lots of fun! The monkey jump was my favorite part, very thrilling. The views were also spectacular, lunch and coffee was delicious. The main facility for puretrek itself was clean. Highly recommend trying this experience for yourself!

First time rappelling and it was a great experience. Fun but nerve wracking. Could feel my legs shaking getting to the first one but it was all fun after beginning. Felt very safe with the guides and they helped you laugh through it. The less you bring the better but they have lockers to lock up anything you bring with you but don't wish to take on you when you'll be getting wet. They allowed us to bring phones if you have a waterproof case but I recommend the go-pro (they provided some helmets with the attachment to do so) as the photos from the phones slowed things down a little. They have a photographer present taking photos for purchase also. You get all the group photos from your time slot when you pay via their website.

Great Fun but Wish I Had More Time to Enjoy Each Rappel

Pure Trek rappelling and canyoning was what I was most looking forward to doing in Costa Rica! The guides were knowledge and I had a blast. The guides were very thorough on the safety equipment and rappelling demonstrations. The lunch was very tasty with chicken and rice, salad, and papaya-pineapple juice. My favorite "rappel" was the second rappel but third "activity" where it was through the waterfall and called La LLorona (lady's tears). SO BEAUTIFUL. HOWEVER, I am annoyed that it felt like I was pulled down this fall and did not get adequate time to rappel myself down / soak in the beauty of the waterfall. In rappels 3-4 I felt rushed and part of an industry (of running people through the activity) rather than it being a personal experience/most people's first times enjoying the activity and Costa Rican forest/canyons/waterfalls. While the price is steep, they pick you up from the hotel, feed you a single plate of food, transport us by a 4x4 up the mountain, have restrooms and lockers at reception, provide the safety equipment and demonstrations, take photos (for an additional $35), and then bring us back.

This was a really unique experience and we enjoyed ourselves. It was a little scary at first but it ended up being a great adrenaline rush! Unfortunately , we ended up in a huge group of 50+ people and we had to wait for such a long time for the first waterfall. You can tell they overbooked the group because the guides seemed stressed and we were rushed through the whole experience. They really seem to pump people through the day and it was not personalized at all. While the guides were friendly, you were never really sure who was in charge. Overall, I would recommend but some feedback for the company is to not book so many people at once- it took away from the fun!

Super fun adventure! Guides were knowledgeable and kept us all very safe, informed and comfortable. If you made a mistake on the way down they would swing you to a safer spot before you got into trouble. A nice change from zip lining with a similar exciting rush and totally out in a lush jungle setting full of natural waterfalls. Highly recommended!

This was so much fun! Great guides and such beautiful scenery. The tour is truly one for all ages as the fantastic people we met on our tour ranges from 21 to 67! We also met a family the next day who had also done it and their kids were 12 and 14. I also felt safe despite having a major fear of heights, and you are up high!
