Tour guide with a fun personality

Sekumpul Waterfalls is one of the best places to visit in Bali. It is magnificent and refreshing to be in the fresh water. I would highly recommend it. Our tour guide Asta was phenomenal. He is fun loving, and loved to take pictures, especially the romantic ones. He made the day extremely fun. Highly recommend.

This was a breathtaking trip. Our driver was excellent and prompt with pickup and very friendly. The first spot on the tour was the rice paddies of Ubud which provided a nice photo opportunity. Next was a coffee plantation where several other spices were also grown. The tour was very interesting as well as trying the different coffees and tea. The volcanic soil makes it easy to grow anything up there. Then it was on to breakfast over looking a scenic inactive volcano. After breakfast was a long drive before the Sekumpul Waterfalls hiking tour. A great local guide took us to see two waterfalls and he was outstanding. Both were breathtaking and the water was cool and refreshing. The scenery all over the drive was nice to look at and our driver stopped whenever we requested to try local produce or stop for water. Anybody going to Bali must do this trip. It's a nice escape and an efficient way to see all of the sites.

This was an awesome tour. Our guide/driver Ravy was the best. He was so friendly, informative and gracious, and we were able to customize our trip to our wants and needs. He's so great! We liked the tour with Ravy so much that we scheduled another one a couple days later. And that one was equally as cool. Highly recommended. Thanks, Ravy!! -Mike and Amanda

The waterfall was our favorite event. We saw 7 beautiful waterfalls that were well worth the hike. However, the hike was no joke. Be extremely careful as the steps are slick and steep. I was heavy breathing on the way up but it is doable and worth it. We went swimming in the waterfall and it was a magical experience. Our guide was almost the best part. He was so knowledgeable and kind. He gave me his flip flops to walk on the rocks as I only had tennis shoes for the trek. This trip is a must if you are fit for the hike.

This tour was definitely worth doing and it was amazing. However my only complaint is that the tour guide was not a guide at all, he was simply the driver who took us there and back. There was no explanation of the areas we travelled to no wonderful background or history simply no conversation at all, he was a lovely young man, but definitely just a driver NOT a tour guide. I have had many Viator activities and each and every time the guide was knowledgeable and really cared about his tour and guests. This guy was simply driving us there and back and did not really know much about anything and his English was not that strong. If we asked questions he answered us with limited knowledge of the areas we visited but he did not volunteer any information of his own accord, this was the only disappointing aspect of our tour otherwise the tour itself as in seeing the waterfalls and the rice fields and Kintamani mountain etc was amazing and would definitely recommend to all.

For us it was the most memorable experience in Bali. Swimming under the waterfall was awesome, also the local guide at Sekumpul told us a lot about their village, local life. The hike for us was quite simple even through it was really hot outside. Also we encountered a snake not far from the waterfall, but it quickly disappeared in the forest. The guide/driver also described some aspects of Balinese culture and traditions. Don't be shy and ask questions! :

We loved every single thing about this tour. Our friendly and patient driver, Kadek, drove us to five different spots answering questions we had and helping us take pictures. He made us feel very safe even among the chaos of a million scooters on tiny roads. Our first stop was the rice terrace beautiful! Lots of photo opportunities here. Next stop, a small coffee plantation where you are given a tour of the garden then served a flight of coffee, cocoa, and tea. All were delicious! Our guide at the plantation, Wayen, was humorous and informative. Next was breakfast with a view of an inactive volcano and a lake. Awesome. After that, we went to the most amazing waterfall I have ever seen. Lots and lots of steps, so keep that in mind. However, it was one of the highlights of our trip. There's lots of mist even at a distance, so bring either a waterproof camera or something to protect your camera. Part of the trek leading to the fall can be walked or you can pay a scooter-driver to give you a ride. I recommend walking all the way to the fall and taking the scooter back. After the waterfall, we went to an impressive temple for more picture-taking. Long story short, it was super amazing. I highly recommend this tour.

Had a wonderful trip! The listing says that this takes 10 hours, but actually, this took us 12 hours, from 7AM to 7PM to be exact. The drive between stops are long about 2 hours to the civet cat coffee plantation from our hotel in Jimbaran, then another hour and a half to the viewpoint where we got a panoramic view of Mount Batur beside Lake Batur, and another hour and a half to Sekumpul. It was definitely a full and tiring day, but everything was worth it - the beautiful stops, the trek to Sekumpul, our fun swim, and the surprise stop at the temple grounds of Pura Ulun Danu. Thank you to our very patient driver, Ma-De I hope I got that right!

Our guide for the day was very prompt collecting us from our hotel. We visited the community owned rice field, the tea farm and had breakfast overlooking the mountains. We then visited the waterfalls. It was a fabulous day with a tested formula of sites to visit. The only improvement would be if the company was able to supply wet weather gear ie raincoats/umbrellas as it was very wet while we were at the waterfalls. Our driver/guide knew the areas well and was able to explain things clearly and was very helpful throughout the day.

Amazing experience. The hike there is easy enough, getting back however isn't that easy. I did take a few breaks. The waterfall itself though is beyond stunning and is worth the hike.

Great tour if you want to get a close up of Bali's hinterland. We had an excellent guide called Newman who offered every courtesy and was so familiar with the island he was able to adjust to avoid traffic hold ups etc. We didn't go down to the river at Sekumpul but got some good pics of the beautiful waterfalls from a viewing point about half way down. We were glad we didn't go all the way down because there was a thunder storm with heavy rain. Strangely, it was quite refreshing to get soaked on the steep climb back. You can get a motorcycle lift back to the top for 20000 rupees less than 2 USD . The breakfast break was wonderful. We had a good meal overlooking the volcano caldera which was vast and awesome. The rice fields are also worth visiting for their sheer beauty. All in all a great day except for the hour long storm which is not unusual in the mountain climate.

This tour was simply amazing. Our driver, Arta, was very pleasant. It's an early start of the day but ithe is totally worth it. Viewing the rice terraces and temple while we are the only one there. Breakfast couldn't be beat. The view of the volcano was breath taking.

The tour was really good! My guide, Gede, was extremely helpful and knowledgable. He tailored the trip to suit my taste and made sure I spent a decent amount of time at each location. I'd recommend this trip to those travelling solo, couples and groups. Thanks for the awesome day!

This was very cool! The waterfall was spectacular, and as with most Bali tours, there are the obligatory stops at Mt Batur, the Rice Terraces and a temple or two. If you've done other tours, be prepared to repeat the sights. A moderately challenging descent down and back up, but it is pathway, with rails and steps.... Lots and lots of steps. Take advantage of views and the waterfall, you can paddle in the plunge pool and it's lush and green and welcoming.

From my perspective that's the best package you can choose amongst all if you are visiting Ubud. Most packages offered in Ubud, offer places you can visit yourself, such as Ubud market and monkey forest etc., you don't need a guide for that or a taxi. But to see places around the island, which require some time to drive between them, you really need someone to drive you around who knows these places, and Putu with his driver really delivered that. They were extremely friendly and helpful, knew places and people we were visiting, so you could feel you are being taken cared of really well. That's really the package you would want to chose if you wanted to see the island from the right cultural perspective. Some info for the places to keep in mind: Coffee plantation. Keep in mind most expensive coffee of Luwak costs 1'100'000 IDR per 250g, so plan your budget for the day accordingly, if you are planning to buy that coffee, and also there are other coffee types and teas, and yes, they are all worth it. Sekumpul Waterfalls - very beautiful place. Consists of 2 walking phases: 15/20 mins downhill to first view point on the waterfalls and possible extra 10 mins downhill to the waterfall themselves, which are really worth a swim. You may think during the first phase that it's difficult to walk downhill, and may not want to go even lower to the waterfalls themselves, but do not worry, you will not need to go all the way up: from view point boys with scooters will drive you up to the parking, that's included with the price. So make sure you go down all the way and swim in the waterfalls, you will remember that. All other places mentioned in the package, don't worry about anything, just visit them and take pictures. Especially view of the volcano in the terrace restaurant. Best breakfast view I've had in my life! Hope I was helpful. I really recommend this package if you have at least one full day free in Ubud for these type of things.

Our driver Made was fabulous. He was on time and answered our many questions throughout the day. We saw quite a bit of Bali in this tour and every stop was explained and well worth the trip. The waterfalls were stunning and again our English speaking guide was very patient and full of knowledge. Mount Batur is beautiful and the rice paddies picturesque. Thank you for the experience.
