Wieliczka Salt Mine: Regular Guided Tour (free door to door service)

A Kraków must. Excellent day with knowledgeable tour guide who spoke excellent English. The Salt Mines are very impressive. Door to door transfer from hotel was great. Recommended.

A short 20min trip from Kracow to the Salt Mine. This was the best tour I did. You need to be reasonably fit to do this tour as you walk down 800 steps...but oh so worth it. You will amazed at the many sculptures, churches and chandeliers created over 100s years. Just remember to wear layers as the deeper into the mine you go the warmer you get so will end up carrying your coat. At the end you get to travel back to the surface in a miners cage lift. Our guide Lisa who was great, both informative and entertaining. Well Done Lisa all 3 of us had a great time.

The salt mines are amazing. It was so much better than I thought it would be. Pick up was good from our hotel but we received a text the night before saying we would be picked up later then booked. This wasn't a problem. The start of the salt mine tour is walking down 400 steps. You are dizzy by the time you get to the bottom but its worth it. After that is another 400 steps down but through the mines. The good news is you get a lift back up. The tour was very good with lots of info given out. I was surprised to find restaurants and toilets down there plus a few shops but it was massive down there. You can even get married if you wanted but without giving to much away the chapels and the cathedral parts were amazing. The salt mines have to be on your to do list when you go to Poland. You will not be disappointed. We must have been down there for 3 hours but you could spend longer there if you wanted.

Great tour, excellent guide and pick up/drop off service. It's the best way to do it, and doesn't cost that much more than finding your own way there and paying the entry ticket. I'd recommend you pre book and use Viator
