Don’t miss this if you love nature!!

Ken was one of the best tour guides that I have had on a tour. His knowledge of the park was incredible and he taught us so much about the wildlife and plants/flowers. The trail is not for someone who is not in moderate physical shape. The elevation and section off of the regular trail could be challenging. We got great pictures saw beautiful water features and now have wonderful memories. Wear sturdy hiking type shoes for stability over the rocks!

Sam was awesome! She was an excellent tour guide and provided great info and history of the Smokies. We loved the part of the tour where she gave us a small twig of birch that smelled like wintergreen and was used as a natural toothbrush by the Indians. The terrain is what you would expect from walking in the mountains and in our opinion was mild to not quite moderate in terms of being physically demanding. We did not have walking poles and they are not needed on this trek but would be a bonus for anyone not used to a bit of elevation change. Overall was a great experience.

This is not for those who have medical conditions even though this was told and written on forms
The guide only catered to the ones who were hikers and totally ignored us!!!!
Instead of helping us to make sure we did not fall or lag behind-he didn’t check on us.
It was a hike to hell as only our determination carried us back!!!!!

Hi Aneeta,
We received your review through our booking system and are so very sorry you were dissatisfied with the tour. If you had posted any health restrictions through Viator, unfortunately, those did not come through to us here at A Walk in the Woods. This tour is advertised as not suitable for those with 'back problems', 'expectant mothers' and those with 'serious medical issues'. We also recommend a moderate fitness level for this tour.
We understand the gentlemen in your group did have a good time with the guide, but we are going to refund you in full for this tour, nonetheless. We sincerely apologize for your frustrations. Your guide was upset that he wasn't able to get the whole group up the trail and did express that to me when he came back from this hike. He was genuinely worried that you didn't get the experience you wanted.
I will notify Viator to get your refund processed as soon as possible. If you would like to give us a call to chat about your experience, we are in the office 7 days a week from 9am-5pm EST. Our number is 865-436-8283 or you can email us directly at info@awalkinthewoods.com. I would be happy to listen.
Thank you,
Patricia

My family and I had a great time! Our guide was great, professional and very friendly! She was very knowledgeable about area and vegetation. The Chimney Tops trail was a beautiful trail with streams. It was an amazing experience for my family and another Smoky Mountains trail to cross off of our list! I will definitely book with A Walk In The Woods next time we are in the are!
