    Amazing amazing country

This land is like no other and this tour was terrific. Just enough to get a taste of what is there - endless landscapes and beautiful scenery , many different types of birds, large and plentiful crocodiles, breathtaking aboriginal rock art. The tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Parts of the Arnhem tour were tough for "city folk"- e.g. some rock climbing - but well worth it.

Dear Dan_M, Thanks for your review, and we agree that the landscape and birdlife are simply incredible in the Top End. We are glad that you enjoyed exploring Arnhem Land with us as well, especially the rock climbing. We hope to welcome you back on board an AAT Kings tour again in the future. Thanks, The Team at AAT Kings

Day 1 was disappointing but saved by us opting to pay 500 for a 50 minute flight over part of Kakadu - at least we could see some of the geological features. Our accommodation at the Mecure Crocodile Hotel was good as was the service and the restaurant. Day 2 was great as we went into Arnhem Land in a 4 wd bus - only 4 of us and a very good guide. At last we saw geological features from the ground with beautiful billabongs, a very interesting Aboriginal community Oenpelli and heaps of rock art. The flight on day 1 and day 2 made the trip worthwhile.

Found the tour a bit disorganised as I did not know exactly the detailed itinerary and timing. They did an optional scenic flight in the morning which meant we miss the visit to the cultural centre. It would have been better if they did the optional flight after we check into the hotel at approx 4.30 after that we were left on our own device. The next day we rush back from Arnhem Land becuase of the timing of the tides but the timing was gotten wrong. It would have been nice if we could spend more time at the Rocks which for me was the highlight of the 2nd day. The transfer back to Darwin was disorganised as we did not know exactly the time and which bus would take us back.

Wonderful 2 days in hot weather but plenty of cold water supplied. Aboriginal Art sites were a highlight as was the second day into Arnhem Land. Comfortable coach and 4 wheel drive for the second day. Highly recommended.

What we saw was fantastic, and so were the guides on each of the organised tours. The accommodation was sub-standard and pick-up/drop-off arrangements were badly organised and caused a lot of frustration. Overpriced. A detailed itinerary and list of inclusions is essential - this was not provided, causing further frustration.

Extremely informative and interesting. Great accommodation and brilliant tour guides; particularly Peter Love on the Kakadu tour. Very professional and unique with his dissemination of information and local knowledge. Coupled with that was his personality and ability to relate to all his passengers regardless of age. The four wheeled tour of Arnhem Land was also a truly unforgettable and spiritual experience and professionally conducted.

We enjoyed the trip a great deal. The guide was really helpful and knew a lot. The river trips were wonderful, and we also took the optional extra of flying above Kakadu in a small plane which was also fun. Everything ran very smoothly, and the only thing that wasn't so good was the over priced buffet meal at the hotel we stayed in. The food was very ordinary and because they offer the only real option for meals it felt like they charged what they wanted which was a great deal more than it was worth. However our over riding memories are very positive and we certainly had 2 terrific days.

I can't say enough good things about AAT Kings tours. Drivers are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The Crocodile Hotel was interesting but their $65 dinner/breakfast special was not worth that much money. The guides on the boat tours did a very good job; they knew their flora and fauna on the South Alligator River cruise and did a wonderful job, especially the demonstration with the spears, on the East Alligator River (Arnhem Land Tour).

Wow - what an exhausting trip but well worth it. Our tour guide for the entire trip was Shaun and he was truly a wealth of knowledge. This is the only way to see Kakadu - what a wonderful learning experience
