Incredible day!

Our favorite part was learning about the historical explanations for carvings and ruins in Tulum. We felt very safe, even though we are still in the middle of a pandemic. All activities were outdoors, except the driving, so it was a great safe option while traveling. Norma, our guide, has extensive knowledge not only of Mayan and Mexican history, but of global history that lead to the founding of the Mayan empire.

Great day with Norma and Faustino!

Norma is a STAR! She had so much information and made the trip fun, educational and no hassle. Faustino was also a great driver. We were picked up from our resort and over the course of the ride, Norma gave us some great lessons on the Mayan culture to pass the time. The temp at the ruins was hot but she helped us find some great spots for photos. Lunch at the cenotes was awesome - get the enchiladas! Make sure to bring water shoes as it’s a bit rocky. Great day with great guides.

Fantastic Tour!
Greggers

Seriously, a wonderful trip. When we first met our tour guide, Norma, she informed me that it looked like our group was booked twice and called to see how we could address making sure the payment was returned (it is being processed right now and had more to do with by cell service when booking than any issue by the tour company). Norma hopped in the back of the van and told us a lot of really interesting material about Maya culture, from which she is a part, and discussed a variety of different things that I was unaware of. Tulum is very interesting and has some wonderful views. The cenotes were fun and similar to an experience I had when traveling to the Dominican Republic. There is a small restaurant with excellent food with a menu prepared by the culinary school for a Mexican university - we really enjoyed the enmoladas, as I a particularly fond of mole. I'd recommend ordering and then going straight to the cenote instead of waiting for your food to be prepared, like we did. There are two cenotes, one that is pretty dark, but lit up and one that is in the sun. You can easily jump into the dark one and the water is about 70 degrees F. The upper one has some pretty sharp limestone on the bottom and is too shallow to jump into, so be very careful or consider water shoes.

Don't recommend it
Brian_L
, Apr 2021
11 hour trip advertised as 7 to 8. Two hour drive is actually 3.5 hours each way to pick up other groups so you'll be in the bus 7 hours. Cenote was very rocky and not nearly as nice as the others I have visited. Couldn't understand the tour guide due to very bad speakers on the bus.
icon Response from Host , Apr 2021
Dear Brian_L Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations and regret that we went through a street repair, but it was an uncommon instance; I want to let you know we'll take the good and the bad elements you've mentioned in your review to heart. Your happiness is our number one priority! Best wishes.

Norma was an outstanding guide. She was very knowledgeable & also set our expectations for what to be on the look out for detail by detai. She also recommended an excellent food choice at the restaurant on one of our stops. Very friendly & helpful as well as growing up in this area. I recommend this tour!
