Departure Time

7:30 AM
After morning pickup at your Playa del Carmen or Cancun hotel, ride in a comfortable, climate-controlled minivan to Tulum.

Perched high on a cliff, this ancient city overlooking the Caribbean Sea is one of the best-preserved Maya sites. Learn about the Maya society that thrived there in the 13th-15th centuries during a guided tour. Explore the site at your leisure before departing for your next stop.

Before heading on to Coba, stop at a cenote, an underground sinkhole created by limestone erosion and filled with pristine water. After a refreshing dip, travel to a local restaurant for lunch. Enjoy Yucatanean specialties, including quesadillas and salad. Sip water, soda or beer with your meal. After lunch, depart Tulum for Coba.

Travel to Coba, deep in the rain forest amongst lush vegetation and serene lagoons. Once a Maya trade center, Coba now boasts many significant ruins.

Take a guided tour, including a climb to the top of the tallest Mayan pyramid in the region, Nohoch Mul. Look out over the tops of the rain forest canopy before descending to explore the other stone buildings, such as the Ball Court. Wander the site on your own for another hour before boarding the bus back to your hotel in Playa del Carmen or Cancun after a long day of discovering Maya culture and civilization.

Tulum tour review

Overall it was a good tour. Hector the tour guide was great. I would have given it a 5 star but it would be nice for them to let you know you need a life vest at the cenote that way you can bring your own. Also, the food was ok. The meat was dry and overcooked. Tulum can be skipped not much to do their and you need more time in playa del carmen than 45 minutes. But overall a good experience.

Another great Mayan cultural immersion

Most excellent. Tour guides were awesome. Very informative. We did this tour and one to Chichen Itza. Definitely worth doing both as the Mayan sites are all different. We coordinated our itinerary to do 2 days of Mayan experience then the rest water adventures. Great way to get the most of Cancun. Highly recommend this tour.

The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure we were hydrated and gave us suggestions on how to make the best out of our excursion. The only thing I wish was when we went shopping, we went to a store and didnt shop with the local people

Great Tour! Amazing Tour Guides

We had a misunderstanding with the pick up location but the company made it right and got it figured out. The trip was a lot of fun and our guide Ray made all the difference. We had a fairly small group in comparison to other tours which was nice. The tour was a lot of fun and everything was explained to us. Highly recommend!

The historical ruins of Tulum and Coba are truly breathtaking and we learned a lot about Mayan history. Finishing the day off at the cenote to cool off was the cherry on top. Oscar was an excellent tour guide!

An incredible day!

Seeing the Mayan temples up close, it was a bit of a disappointment to not be able to climb the stairs at Coba but our guide Raymond was impeccable and friendly, the Cenote was refreshing and a very great spot! I could have done without an hour spent in Playa Del Carmen, it's okay if you want to buy souvenirs but it is packed, so is the beach, uou onky have an hour there so not enough time to eat, but too much to shop, so for me not necessary.

The tour guides made the trip acceptable

The tour guides made the tour enjoyable despite not being able to visit Tulum or the Mayan Beach due to hurricane damage. I am a bit upset that I was not told in advance that the tour would not include these activities... the company waited until we arrived at the meeting point after hotel pick up before they told us this and no partial refund was offered despite half the tour being unavailable. Despite that, the tour went smoothly for the things we were able to do. The Zona Arqueologica de Coba was interesting and I'm glad I can say I saw it. Riding the bikes was fun. The buffet lunch was good; there was a decent variety of foods available, and I had a very good margarita! The cenote was beautiful and a great experience with lovely scenery. I could have done without the Playa del Carmen segment. It was just a street where street vendors are yelling at you to buy things & some Americanized restaurants. I would have rather have gone somewhere I could get some authentic Mexican foods and goods and be more immersed in the culture. Funny note: if you have an all-inclusive bracelet on, some street vendors will try to work you over and they say they work at the resort you're staying & ask if you remember them to make nice. Then they'll ask you to come visit their "family's" shop. Overall the trip was good because the tour guides made it so and because I felt it was nice to leave my resort for a day. The hurricane and my beef with the tour company isn't their fault, so I give the experience 4-stars.

Thank you for taking the time to leave ypur comments. Your feedbacks help us to avoid some issued mentioned on your experiences, our guides will always put their best effort to make a better experience no matter the circumstances. We will review on the issue about letting you know at the check in about the closing of Tulum site, this was because there was no power in Tulum for several days. On the other hand, we are glad you liked the activities offered.
