How to Get There

The Alimentarium is located on Quai Perdonnet along the waterfront of Lake Geneva in Vevey. From Vevey train station—which has links to Montreux, Geneva, and Lausanne—it's about a half-mile (700 meters), or around a 10-minute walk.

When to Get There

The museum is open from morning until early evening, with extended hours in summer; it is closed on Monday. Try to time your visit to coincide with the included demonstrations, which take place on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons.

Visit Vevey

The small village of Vevey is located between Montreux and Lausanne, along the banks of Lake Geneva. Visit on a Tuesday or Saturday morning, when a lively market takes over Grande Place, with folk dancing in summer. Additional attractions include Charlie’s World, devoted to the famous former resident Charlie Chaplin; the promenade's Charlie Chaplin statue; Vevey Photography Museum; and Museum Nest, another Nestlé museum, focusing on the history of the brand.
