The Basics

One of West Coast's top natural harbors, the San Diego Harbor is also home to some of the city’s major attractions. Climb aboard the USS Midway Museum, one of the U.S. Navy’s longest-serving aircraft carriers, and stop by the Maritime Museum of San Diego to see historic vessels and nautical-themed exhibitions. Visit Seaport Village for its restaurants, boutiques, and live-music performances. Families shouldn't miss Waterfront Park, with fountains and children’s play areas.

To get the most out of your visit, prebook attraction tickets and plan to see the harbor from a boat tour, or sign up for a helicopter ride for one-of-a-kind aerial views. It's also easy to independently visit area sights.

Great evening!

San Diego Premier Dinner Cruise
The staff was so personable and attentive. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The ship was very clean. My friends and I dressed up but was a little put off with another party wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts. The dress code said dressy or business casual. I think that needs to be enforced so it remains a classy night out on the bay. :)

Family fun, hands on

We went as a family with a 15 and 18 year old. Everyone worked the winches and had a turn at the helm. The crew was knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The history of yacht racing and the yacht we went on was interesting and gave you a better appreciation of the experience. A bonus on the day we went was an aircraft carrier leaving the harbor with a full load of planes on deck!

We had one person trying to find a parking spot and it took an extra ten minutes past the sail time to get there. The people at the dock held the ship until we arrived. Food was good. Ambiance was good. Personnel were courteous and friendly.

When to Get There

There’s never a bad time of year to explore the attractions that line the San Diego Harbor. That said, as the area’s main attractions include museums, shops, and restaurants, it’s best to visit during normal opening hours. The area will be particularly crowded during the summer months.
