El Mirador Tours and Tickets
32 Reviews
An ancient urban center that flourished almost a thousand years before Tikal had constructed its first pyramid, El Mirador once had a population of close to 100,000 in 600 BC, making it one of the first megacities in the Americas. When it was excavated 30 years ago, the findings basically rewrote what was considered early Maya history.

El Mirador Helicopter Tour
30
Deep in the Mayan jungles of Petén lie the amazing ruins of El Mirador. Usually only accessible by a challenging 5-day hike through the jungle, this scenic helicopter tour takes you all the way from Flores to this remote working archaeological site and back in a day—with plenty of time left for a guided hike through the ancient pre-classic Mayan city, believed to have been built around 2,600 years ago.

5-Day Trekking To El Mirador From Flores - All Included Camping Tour
1
El Mirador is a breathtakingly beautiful city with massive buildings. This city precedes others like Tikal by a couple of centuries. El Mirador was discovered less than 100 years ago, and they are still exploring and excavating, it is believed that there are more than 200 small cities around El Mirador that used to be like the suburbs.
Without a doubt, there is much to explore and much to know. A 5-day, 4-night tour sounds a bit challenging, but you will enjoy every step of this tour. The road is flat, and we will walk between 5 to 6 hours a day making stops to rest and eat a snack every two hours. During this adventure, you will visit 3 Mayan cities in total: El Tintal, La Muerta and El Mirador.
Your visit will also contribute to the Carmelita community. The team that will accompany you throughout the tour is part of a community cooperative, and the proceeds directly help the entire neighborhood. Please note that you will need to make your reservation with 5 days of anticipation.

Visit El Mirador & Its Monumental Pyramids - Tour On Helicopter From Flores
El Mirador is an archaeological site of the Late Preclassic period. During your visit, you will be able to observe several monumental structures much larger than the Jaguar pyramid in Tikal. La Data is one of those constructions, and it is the largest pyramid in the world by volume and the largest built by the Mayan civilization.
After many investigations and excavations, it was determined that this city was occupied from 1,000 BC. until 150 AD and that its peak was from 500 to 300 BC and abandoned in 150 AD. There are many centuries of history here, and you will love knowing every detail with our expert guide.
A very curious fact is that the American actor Morgan Freeman visited El Mirador as part of his program "The Story of God", in which he assures that if people want a truly historical experience, they should visit El Mirador in Petén. So come with us and enjoy this adventure with a team of professionals who will make this experience totally worth every penny.
