The Basics

As one of the city’s top landmarks, the Guggenheim is included on most New York City attractions passes, which grant discounted access to a bundle of sights such as the Empire State Building Observatory and the Museum of Modern Art. The Guggenheim is located on Museum Mile, the stretch of Fifth Avenue that houses nine renowned museums and is a stop on most hop-on hop-off bus tours.

Private tours of New York offer a more intimate experience and allow guests to tack a visit to the Guggenheim onto the day’s customized itinerary. Guggenheim-specific tours often private and ensure the guide’s full attention, while early access tours offer a quiet VIP experience before regular opening hours.

Music and art

We really enjoyed our experience at the museum. It was so different, it was music rather than art. It was the Ragnar Kjartansson: Romantic Songs of the Patriarchy performance. My eldest daughter who who loves music was really fascinated and enjoyed it very much.

Is the museum a joke?

Architecture was the experience I sought for my visit with my son and grandsons. They understood that Frank Lloyd Wright’s last joke was this building in that he showed the world that architecture was supreme to art. We enjoyed our visit. Thank you. And now you can come to Manchester NH and visit two FLW houses.

Guggenheim Museum: Curious Museum Highlights Experience (Private Group Tour)
My 13 year old son and I had a fabulous tour of the Guggenheim Museum with Megan. She was enthusiastic, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her passion for art was contagious and left us wanting to return for the next exhibit with her as our guide. We will definitely request her again. Highly recommend!

the current show in the main rotunda of the Guggenheim isn't that interesting it's not even art and it says so it's a discussion about humans impact on the environment to the agriculture and then some of the main permanent colors for shut down for renovation as well so I would save the 25 bucks and go to the MEt next time

Frank Lloyd Wright

The Guggenheim was the last project ever completed by world-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who passed away six months after the museum’s opening at the age of 91. After a long deliberation among four initial plans, the final design was criticized because of concern that it might overshadow the works of art contained within. After its grand opening in 1959, the building was lauded and has since become a source of inspiration for architects around the globe.
