Practical Info

Melbourne’s Chinatown rests between the corners of Swanston and Spring Street. It’s a short walk from Melbourne’s CBD, and while the area is always a buzz of activity, late January or early February are packed during Chinese New Year. For sights, the Chinese Museum is open daily from 10am-5pm.

The most socially conscious tour I've been on
Aamir, my tour guide was awesome. He was funny, engaging, and real. Thanks to him I got an authentic lesson on the history of Melbourne, not a shiny, glossy one. The tour itself was the perfect length of time and a really great way to see some major points. Plus we did some fun things along the way like stop to take pictures and grab a beer at a famous pub. The best thing I did during my time in Melbourne.

Sue was great! Very knowledgeable and took us to great places to try such good dumplings. She even gave us a little history tour too, which was really neat.

Recommend doing this tour. Our guide was friendly and gave insights into the background of the dumplings we tried out. We visited 4 dumpling places and each gave us the opportunity to try out different styles and flavours of dumplings.

I loved this tour and Monqiue was a fabulous guide. This tour takes you to four different restaurants to taste different types of dumplings eg: Shanghai province and Japanese NB: remember to wear stretchy pants.

Thank you Monique. Some great dumplings and conversation. Also, some interesting Melbourne history thrown in. We were unlucky to have picked a really hot evening and a few of the places dont have air conditioning. But the dumplings made up for it. And I look forward to going back for more!

Uh, yes, a DUMPLING tour? What more info do you need? I've done a lot of food tours and this one was among the most unique. Very well-run, would do it again and would absolutely recommend.

We had a wonderful evening venturing through the streets and alley ways of China Town. What better way to see the city then by walking. To have such a knowledgeable guide was even better. The dumpling restaurants we visited were fantastic. Absolutely wonderful evening. It was the highlight of our Melbourne visit. Great way to spend a night out meeting new people with great food and drink.
