The Basics

A sightseeing tour of Krakow isn’t complete without a visit to the former Jewish district, and the best way to explore Kazimierz is on foot. Learn more about Krakow’s Jewish history and visit filming locations from Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-winning Schindler's List on a guided walking tour, join a food tasting tour and sample the quarter’s famous street food, or explore by Segway, bike, or in a classic Trabant car.

For a more personalized experience, opt for a small-group or private tour, visit independently as part of a hop-on hop-off bus tour, or choose a tour that includes other attractions, such as Wawel Hill, Wieliczka Salt Mine, or Oskar Schindler’s Factory.

A Fantastic Immersion Into Polish Cuisine
I've been on food tours around the world. From Thailand to Chile. But THIS tour really ranks amongst one of the best. Camillas knowledge, professionalism, humor, and passion are just a few reasons I'll definitely take another tour with them. From start to finish, she ensured we understood the cuisine, it's history, and how we could enjoy it even after the tour. I highly recommend this tour.

Delicious Kazimierz Food Tour from Krakow
If you are going to Kraków you have to try this foodtour. It was enlightening about the history of Kraków, Poland and the polish cuisine. The tourguide was the best guide ever. She was open and hospitable to us. We became a little family at the end of the evening. It was clear that she liked her job. A memory for the rest of our lifes.

Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking at trying out some polish food. Ideally take the tour at the start of your Krakow visit so you have tips for restaurants and cafes for the rest of your trip.

Best Tour to Taste Poland

Delicious Kazimierz Food Tour from Krakow
Such a wonderful experience. We tried so many different foods that I would have taken me a week to find and try. I only had a few days so this knocked out a lot of bucket list foods in one go. As a solo traveler it was great because you will easily make new friends. The organization was great. Our table was waiting for us at each restaurant and our food was brought out quickly. There was no order anxiety because the meals were planned in advance. The guide was amazing, very friendly and informative. I hope to see her again in the future because she is a wonderful soul.

Absolutely loved this tour with Seweryn of the Jewish quarter and ghetto area. He was so informative and we saw many things that we definitely would have missed if we had just been wandering around ourselves...such a wealth of knowledge. If you only do one tour in Krakow make sure you choose this guy we cant recommend him highly enough! Dave & Karen.

Delicious Kazimierz Food Tour from Krakow
Long awaited, a delicious introduction to polish food and culture. Everything was fresh, from pierogi to zapiekanka (which was my favorite), two kind of soup, betroot (the Cristmas type) and sour, potato pankakes and cabage rolls and an apple fried desert. Topped with vodka and craft beer, the quince flavoured vodka made me buy some to bring home. Kamila was very friendly and gave us a lot of informations on Poland history and culinary traditions. My only regret this tour was postponed to the last day of my stay in Krakow.

Interesting bike tour around Kraków and it’s main attractions. Alex was a great guide, speaking good English.

When to Get There

Kazimierz is atmospheric both by day and night, and many visitors opt to return in the evening hours to experience the nightlife. The district is at its busiest during the peak summer season, but other popular times to visit are during the holidays, when it hosts one of Krakow’s most popular Christmas markets, or in June for the annual Jewish Culture Festival.

A Walking Tour of Kazimierz

The many historic landmarks, shops, and bars of Kazimierz are easily explored on foot, starting with a stroll down Szeroka Street, where you’ll find the Remuh Synagogue, the Remuh Jewish Cemetery, and the Old Synagogue. Nearby, pay a visit to the 19th-century Tempel Synagogue, the Galicia Museum, and New Square (Plac Nowy), which hosts a lively weekend market and is just a couple of blocks from the magnificent Corpus Christi Church.
