Things to Know Before You Go
Bach Ma National Park is good for hikers and nature lovers alike.
Facilities inside the park remain basic. Be sure to bring essentials such as sunscreen.
If traveling from Da Nang or Hoi An, consider a tour that follows the slow but scenic Hai Van Pass route.
Bach Ma’s trails are not suitable for travelers with disabilities, but the summit has road access.
How to Get There
Bach Ma National Park is about a 30-mile (48-kilometer) drive southeast of Hue, a 40-mile (65-kilometer) drive northwest of Da Nang, and around 60 miles (95 kilometers) from Hoi An. Public buses don’t serve the route, and motorbikes aren’t allowed on the summit road, so it's easiest to book an organized tour.
When to Get There
April, May, and June are a great time to visit Bach Ma National Park, when the weather is warm and mainly dry but not too hot. Some travelers might find July and August uncomfortably hot and humid even at higher elevations, while rain can obscure the views from September through December.
