The Basics

Colmar Old Town’s main sights can be easily explored on a walking tour, including architectural gems such as the dramatic Maison des Têtes, 16th-century wooden Maison Pfister, and the pink sandstone St. Martin Church. Additional highlights of Colmar include Mathias Grünewald’s 16th-century Isenheim Altarpiece at the Unterlinden Museum; the Bartholdi museum, dedicated to the Colmar-born architect (best known for designing the Statue of Liberty); and La Petite Venise (Little Venice), where you can enjoy a boat tour around the scenic canal ways.

Take a tour in a minibus cabriolet to go farther afield to the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle along the wine route to Riquewihr and Kaysersberg. If you have the time, and are in the mood to splurge, take a luxurious gourmet multi-day gastronomy and wine tour.

This was a great day! We found the castle a real highlight even though we didn’t know much about it beforehand. There were lots of stops with public washrooms which was appreciated and the opportunity to taste some wine and local food. Worth every penny!

Great experience, castle was incredible first stop, the next two villages were beautiful and without staying in them this is one of the only ways you'll get to visit if you don't have a car.

Very nice trip, beautiful places and well organized. The guide was very friendly and helpful. The time spent in colmate could be a little more, but it was worth it.

Prepare for a long day but worthwhile trip

Good trip but exhausting towards the end (it was winter, and the final stop being almost 2 hours really had us drained). Very pretty villages worth seeing and the castle was the highlight of the tour. Also, Martin is a safe and reliable driver. :)
