Isla Mujeres

The Basics

Most Isla Mujeres tours leave from Cancun, whether you want to travel by sailboat, catamaran, or motorboat. A snorkeling excursion is one of the best ways to experience the island’s diverse aquatic life, and many Isla Mujeres day trips visit the Manchones, El Meco, or Garrafon reefs. If you’re feeling daring, some tours include a swim with whale sharks, the world’s biggest fish. Combo tours from Cancun allow you to visit Isla Mujeres along with other Riviera Maya attractions such as Contoy Island (Isla Contoy), Xcaret Park, or Chichen Itza.

Privilege Experience Isla Mujeres Tour
Grace was a great tour guide and we had a wonderful time! Unlike a lot of the other reviews for this tour I have seen, we did indeed feel like VIP’s. It was so much better only having 20 people on the boat as opposed to 50 with unlimited drinks! The only thing that was annoying is the professional photographer on board almost forcibly making you spend $80 usd for his photos. Either way, we had a wonderful time and Isla Mujeres was beautiful.

Isla Mujeres Sailing tour from Riviera Maya
I had a great time on this tour. We were picked up from our hotel on time, the staff on board were super friendly and the water in Isla Mujeres was so clear. Lunch was buffet style and it was delicious. The drinks on the catamaran was also awesome. This tour is definitely a must when visiting Playa-del-Carmen.

Sailing Experience to Isla Mujeres in a Catamaran with Open Bar
Pickup from our hotel was punctual and comfortable. The boat didn’t leave exactly at noon but the tour wasn’t shortened because of the delay. The tour company did try to upsell my partner & me to a private catamaran to the tune of $300 more but we declined; wasn’t a super hard sell. The boat crew were great! Other passengers were friendly, never got out of control with the open bar. Snorkeling was fun. Isla Mujeres was really nice!

Isla Contoy Day Trip: Snorkeling at Ixlache Reef and Eco-Paradise Tour
Very relaxing...lots of beach time on Isla Contoy on a secluded beach. Also enjoyed leisurely snorkeling on the reef, and some down time on Isla Mujeres. Crew was very friendly and accommodating.
