The Basics

Wading into the Atlantic Ocean at Coney Island is a quintessential New York experience. Visitors can book a day pass for Luna Park amusement park and try out retro rides, such as the antique B&B Carousell and the Cyclone, a wooden roller coaster that dates back to 1927, as well as playing classic arcade games like Whac-a-Mole.

Travelers can explore Coney Island on guided sightseeing and pizza-themed tours of Brooklyn, as well as on multiborough tours that hop between neighborhoods in Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn. Coney Island can also be seen from the water during Jet Ski tours and from the air during helicopter tours over NYC.

I loved seeing all the Burroughs. It gave me a better perspective of NYC, not just Manhattan. We needed more time at Coney Island. There was not enough to eat a hot dog, let alone go to the Boardwalk or shop

New York Helicopter Tour: Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island
We arrived 30 minutes early before our reservation time which is a must for check in, waiver forms and safety protocols. The staff was friendly and professional. The ride was very smooth and great pilot as he gave us history about the boroughs.

The tour was worth the money! Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the subject matter & had a great sense of humor. The bus was clean & had built in cell phone chargers! One will certainly need that due to the amount of pictures that will be taken! A must do for anyone that’s interested in the other boroughs besides MANHATTAN!!!!

Manuala, our guide was great and very knowledgeable, very accommodating & learned a lots of history of the 5-boroughs within seven hours. It's impossible to visit these hidden gems on your own within one day. I would highly recommend to anyone who love to experience other side of New York (boroughs) city other than Manhattan. Peter

Boroughs of NYC: Harlem, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn & Coney Island
Our excellent guide Antonio gave us a little flavor and history of The Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn. Especially fun was the time strolling on Coney Island. I feel that I now have a much broader and deeper understanding of ALL of New York.

Events at Coney Island

Coney Island is the setting for many exciting events. There’s May’s Popular Brooklyn Half, a half-marathon with a finish line on the boardwalk; the glitter-fueled fun of June’s Coney Island Mermaid Parade; and Nathan’s Famous Annual Hot Dog–Eating Contest on July 4. There are also fireworks every Friday night from late June until Labor Day, and the Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day, during which swimmers brave the freezing Atlantic waters.
