Scenic World

Violet St, Katoomba, NSW, 2780

The Basics

Scenic World has four main attractions—the Scenic Skyway, Scenic Cableway, Scenic Walkway, and Scenic Railway—and both single and combination tickets are available. The glass-floored Scenic Skyway is the largest aerial cable car in the Southern Hemisphere and offers views of Katoomba Falls, the Three Sisters, and the Jamison Valley. The Scenic Cableway descends into the Jamison Valley, with views of Orphan Rock and Mount Solitary, while the Scenic Walkway is a 1.5-mile-long (2.4-kilometer-long) boardwalk through the lush rain forest of the Jamison Valley floor. Finally, the thrilling Scenic Railway is the steepest passenger railway in the world, climbing out of the valley.

Most travelers visit on a day tour from Sydney, and many Blue Mountains tours include a cruise down the Parramatta River or stops at attractions such as the Featherdale Wildlife Park or the mountain town of Leura.

Great experience
Tour guide Jed made trip to this magic place even more interesting than it would be if we went there by ourself. A little bit expensive compared to train and walking alone but worth it. Times on attractions should be a little longer.

We were really lucky to see Blue mountain in the clouds. Scenic world is a must especially with kids. Wild life zoo and cruise was good too. Lloyd was a great tour guide and really trying to meet all our special requests. Great experience overall.

Blue Mountains Hop-on Hop-off Tour with Optional Scenic World Rides
I think the Hop-on Hop-Off trips are highly under-rated. This trip allowed MANY great stop choices - too many to use in one day. The drivers were always on time, helpful and some were even story-tellers. The coach was clean and comfortable with a great view on the top layer. The information provided in the extensive brochure was accurate and easily readable with a great layout. I highly recommend this as an option for next travels.

Lloyd was an excellent guide - punctual, informative and insufferably cheerful! We were blessed with a beautiful day, the Featherdale park was great and the Gondola & train trips wonderful. One of our best tours in Aus.

Blue Mountains Small-Group Tour with Scenic World and Wildlife Park from Sydney
Great day out with are local guide Scotty, he was brilliant good laugh and very knowledgable, there was a lot of low cloud when we arrived at viewing area for the three sisters so Scotty asked if we would like to see a water fall not on the itinerary, we all agreed and it was amazing. We visited three sisters later and they were in full view. Thanks Scotty Andy and Pat

Great sights, lots to do, loved Featherdale Park. Nice driver. Would have like a little more time at Scenic World, Featherdale, & Blue Mountains so wouldn't have had to rush so much.

Fully Inclusive Blue Mountains Private Tour inc Scenic World & Featherdale entry
This tour was well worth the price! Scott was a terrific guide who actively engaged us in conversation during the drive out to the mountains. Knowledgeable and personable, he also took good care to get us through the lines and positioned in the best spots possible for sight-seeing at the Three Sisters and for fun with the kangaroos at the zoo. Lunch was yummy and walking through the small mountain city very enjoyable. Thank you very much, Scott!

Blue Mountains Small-Group Tour with Scenic World and Wildlife Park from Sydney
Lloyd was a great guide....personable, knowledgeable, funny. He took great care of us. The trip itself was fantastic. The Blue Mountains are gorgeous. Loved the cable ride, train ride and walk through the rainforest. The stop at Featherdale Wildlife Park was a treat....feeding the kangaroos and getting to see local wildlife, bonus was the picture with the koala. Highly recommended this excursion Well worth the price

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Facilities at Scenic World include car parking, a restaurant, café, and gift shop.

  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, especially if you plan on bushwalking, and bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water.

  • The Cableway and Skyway are both wheelchair accessible, as is part of the Scenic Walkway. Due to the steep grade traveled by the Scenic Railway, it is not recommended for travelers with disabilities.
